I work with adults 18+ who have mood disorders (anxiety, depression, or Bipolar Disorder) and those with past histories of trauma.
Do you do marriage/couples/family counseling?

Do you see children or adolescents?
My career has primarily focused on working with adults so I do not treat any clients under the age of 18.

How long do counseling sessions last?
The first session (the assessment) can last from 60-90 minutes. Subsequent sessions will last 45-53 minutes.
How often do we meet for therapy?
During your assessment, we will discuss the frequency of sessions. Typically, I like to see clients weekly or bi-weekly, especially at the beginning of therapy.
How long will I be in therapy?
There is no clear answer for this. It will depend on your treatment needs and history. We will discuss what it would take to complete therapy and build our goals to meet that idea.
What are your rates for therapy?
My assessment rate is $200/assessment. This time will be spent getting to know you and your history and developing our treatment goals.
An individual hour of counseling (~50 minutes) is $145/hour.
If you are using your insurance, your rate is set by your insurance carrier and I will collect any copays/coinsurance as required by my contract with them.
What are your rates for ADHD and Austism assessments?
This will vary based on whether we are completing an informal versus formal evaluation and if you are using insurance. Please email me for more specific information.
Are you in-network with my insurance?
Therapy is a reimbursable service through most health insurance companies. I am an in-network provider for Blue Cross/Blue Shield (except Blue Local/Value and Lowe’s employees), Cigna, Aetna, United HealthCare/Optum, MedCost (except CBHA or Atrium Employees), Friday Health, and Bright HealthCare at this time. I am not a Medicare provider so I cannot accept any Medicare associated plans, even for the insurers I am in network with.
Do I have to use my insurance?
Absolutely not. Many client choose not to use their insurance to ensure the highest level of privacy and to allow the greatest flexibility in meeting their treatment needs. Fees for services are charged to the card on file after the session. If the client chooses to not use insurance, a form will be signed by the client acknowledging they choose to not use insurance and that they cannot seek reimbursement from their insurance company at a later date. Services not billed under insurance do not count towards yearly deductibles.
Where is your office?
The office is located in the Daetwyler Plaza in The Park Huntersville, off Interstate 77 exit 23. The physical address is 13420 Reese Blvd W. Huntersville, NC 28078. The Daetwyler Plaza offers plenty of free parking and is handicap accessible.
Do you offer therapy online?
Yes. I offer online sessions through Zoom. You will receive a link for your session ahead of time. Please ensure you are in a safe, quiet, and private location free of distractions for our session. If you are driving, I will ask you to pull over to a safe location or reschedule the session for your safety. To participate in individual therapy online, you must be physically located in North Carolina or South Carolina at the time of the session. At this time, online therapy is covered by most insurance companies. If it is not covered by your insurance, we can still meet online but you will be expected to pay my rate upfront.

Otherwise, I hold hold our relationship to the strictest federal and North Carolina privacy laws.
Can you write a letter to support a leave of absence from work?
I typically do not complete paperwork for clients to be released from work/school under FMLA or short-term disability. Most employers require a letter from a medical doctor/prescriber and I do not meet that classification.
